Data Residency for Clinical Notes

Clinical notes on Clinify are now stored in a region you control.

How it works

Each clinic can select a data residency region in their settings. All patient-sensitive data — consults and documents — is stored in a database in that region. Billing and analytics metadata stays separate and is not affected.

Four regions are available at launch:

  • Sydney
  • London
  • Frankfurt
  • US East

Why this matters

Some jurisdictions require patient data to stay within specific geographic boundaries. Data residency is a foundational step toward full compliance with frameworks like GDPR and HIPAA — both of which we're actively working toward. This gives clinics direct control over where that data lives, without needing to ask us to move anything.

Setting your region

Go to Clinic Settings and select your preferred region under Data Residency. New clinics will be prompted to choose a region during setup. Existing clinics have been defaulted to Sydney — you can change this in your settings at any time.

Updated Policies

We've updated our Privacy Policy to reflect how data is stored and routed across regions.
